Caring is an attractive quality we're all drawn towards on some level. We notice when people care for us, or someone else, or some thing. And it makes us feel good. Take Gail or Natasha or Sonya here at Queensberry. They make people feel good all day because they genuinely care about the person on the other end of the phone. And trust me, people notice it. When looking for a wedding venue, we noticed how much one venue cared even before we'd visited. They wanted us to have the fullest experience possible when visiting their venue, so suggested we come by one Saturday morning before a wedding, To View More >>

Here's an wedding album to whet your appetite. Literally. It's not often we see a wedding themed as heavily as Cindy and Eric's. They went to exceptional lengths to incorporate Cindy's love of sweets and the colour orange into their special day. Their photographer Brian Dorsey reflected those tastes in this beautiful album. Our wedding photographer lives so far away that opportunities to meet in person are very few. Over the weekend though, he was in town and arranged to catch up with us. It was our first official meeting. And it went well... First, he called and asked if we'd like to meet. Now we feel important. He told us funny stories about weddings he's shot. Now we're relaxed. He asked us what we wanted. Now we know what we'll be getting. He told us where he'd like to shoot us. Now we know what to expect. He told us how to look natural. Now we know what to do. He showed us lots of slideshows. Now Kayla wants To View More >>

Well not always, and she hasn't said it that way ... but Ida does often "change" before she goes out in public. How is it that dressing your children can have so many possibilities and attract so much attention? Jo prefers things that "go together". I like things that make a statement about the day. I imagine that I am Ida and wonder what she would  choose if she hadn't yet realised that you can't wear stripes with spots and didn't even know how to say, let alone spell, "fashion disaster". Maybe I am wrong and maybe she does realise. One day she will tell me how I ruined her life (as only teenagers To View More >>

The stranger in the coffee shop looked at us, almost as if we were insane, and said in a tired voice, "Sleep while you can!". It was an ominous warning, over a month ago. We were (Jo was) a month off giving birth and at the time sleeping was getting uncomfortable. On June the 2nd, 2009, Ida Valentina van Kan graced us with her arrival. 7lb 3oz of beautiful girl. [caption id="attachment_3365" align="alignnone" width="500" caption="Ida Valentina"][/caption] After 10 days the warning seems premature. Sleep isn't too bad, in fact we feel incredibly lucky. I am learning things from her.  She will To View More >>
